The Couch to 5km programme is an awesome programme that is set up to help anyone run 5km or for 30 minutes continuously within 8 weeks.
The secret behind this programme is that it starts with a gentle introduction to getting the body moving alternating between walking and running small distances and slowly building to the final run at the end of 8 weeks.
The first question you may ask is how far is 5km? A 5km or five kilometers or 3.1 miles and is totally achievable.
Many newcomers tend to jump in the deep end to fast and try and run to far, to fast to start with and get injuried, lose motivation or just give up. This is where the Couch to 5km programme comes into its own.
The Couch to 5km programme can transform you from a couch potato to a regular runner. It may be tempting to run ahead of the programme, don't patience is key when it comes to this programme.
This programme consists of 3 walk/run sessions a week and 1 strength session a week making sure that you get enough rest so your body can recover.
Starting on the 25th January 2021 for 8 weeks.
